The purpose of this experiment was to determine the optimal conditions for bird watching in terms of variety. The hypothesis investigated was that the temperature wouldn’t have much of an effect on the variety of birds, and was proven wrong. The approach for investigating the problem was observing the same area under the same weather conditions outside of temperature in 30 minute trials. The results showed that more bird species were spotted the hotter the temperature got, with the range going from roughly 5.2 - 6.8 different bird species. In conclusion, in a forest environment, it’s better to go bird watching at higher temperatures rather than lower temperatures.
