Student Enterprise

In TY, we all have make a business. i, along with my friends, Órla, Ciara, Taylor and Leah came up with the idea of baking boxes. Our boxes include all the dry ingredients to make either brownies or cookies and all you have to do is add an egg and butter! We decided to name our business, Batter & Crumbs- (Brownies and cookies ;) ). We then had to figure out what jobs each of us had to do in the company e.g manager, market researcher, financial manager etc. After getting our jobs, we had to work out how we were going to produce our products ,where we were going to buy the ingredients, how we were going to present the product. etc etc. We found boxes that were perfect to keep our ingredients in and the supplier was also from Limerick ! They also gave us a great deal! We had to price each of the ingredients from Tesco, Lidl, Aldi and supervalu. We had to then calculate the price for one box and then set our price and ensuring we would make a profit. We also set a target to sell before Christmas, which we reached. We got 194 orders before Christmas which we got a surprise from, they were a great hit ! We had to make an Instagram account as well where we kept our followers up to date on what was happening! We also sold one of our boxes to a government minister, he reviewed the on his Instagram account too which was great !
