Irish
Term 1
In term 1, we had Ms. Drew for Irish. The topic we covered over the 6 weeks was Drama. The drama we looked at was 'An Tóraíocht'. The main characters in the drama were Fíonn mac Cumhaill, Diarmuid Ua Duibhne and Gráinne Mac Airt. We looked at their character traits and the conflict in this story. We also acted out parts of the story too! Here is a slideshow i made about the story (as gaeilge). We also played games in Irish like charades. We would get an Irish word to act out and the class would have to try guess the answer in Irish!
Term 2
In term 2, we had Mr. Stack for Irish. We talked about ourselves and our family, our house, our school and our past times. When we spoke about schools, we looked at subjects, the rules, our uniform and the facilities in our school.
We also spoke about countries in Irish, we spoke about the countries food, culture. how they dress, the capital of that country. We had to do this on three countries. I spoke about France, Italy and Germany.
We also talked about Technology. We were put into groups and had to work on a powerpoint stating the advantages, disadvantages, the use of technology in school and at home. Here is the powerpoint.
Term 3
In this term, we had Ms Ryan for Irish. We watched Des Bishop -in the name of the fada. In this series we see des bishop learn Irish in a year, while living in the country. We then answered questions from the episodes.
