Work experience

For my work experience i went to Kilmeedy NS. I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher so this week was going to prove to me if i would still want to be one. On Monday i started off in the younger classes, ( juniors, seniors, first and second) i always thought I'd love to be teaching the smaller classes but after being in their room, my mind has slightly went for the older classes. The smaller classes were very nice and funny! it was definitely harder than I thought but I still loved it! I was also in the older classes which I absolutely loved, they were so fun and you could have a joke with them but they got lots of work done. I got to teach them music, so i thought them notes and did body percussion, i also took there PE class where i did basketball and we all enjoyed it !

1. I liked observing the teacher teaching

2. I liked helping the children with their work

3. I enjoyed teaching the students pe and music.

3 things I learnt.

1. I learnt that i enjoy being with the older kids more than being with the smaller kids

2. I learnt that you have to have everything planned the night before on what you were going to do for following day

3. I learnt that you really have to explain things well and have examples for the kids to really understand.

4. You are always busy during the day, you don't have much of a break till 3, 3.30

3 things I would change.

I would only prefer to go for a longer time. ( 2 weeks ).
