8P8- Buttons

Using the button maker, I created buttons with colored pictures because I wanted to make some buttons with things I like on them. So I choose Weezer and Hello Kitty. I made this by putting all the parts into the button maker and then squishing them together and completing the button.

During this process, I learned how to make buttons. I did this by watching how Mr. Renner did it, and following the instructions inside the cabinet. By doing this I was able to make my buttons with things I like.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to creative communicator because I found a creative way to express things that I like.

A challenge I overcame on this project was the pin backing not lining up with the design. I was able to do it by adjusting where the pin part sits before I put it all together in the machine. This made the pin back line up with the design and not be crooked.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size of the designs on the buttons. The reason why I would change it is because they were kind of small and I would like it to be bigger and easier to see. I would also change how some of the pinbacks aren't fully lined up.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the digital multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in making Christmas ornaments.
