Our seven class standards are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. These all mean different things, so let me sum it up for you.
As an Empowered Learner, you must know how to set and accomplish your goal. You must also know what you need to use to accomplish these goals. Lastly, you must know if you achieved the goal and/or how to improve on the goal.
As a Digital Citizen, you must know how to be responsible on the internet/exercise internet etiquette. You must also know that everything that you post on the internet is permanent and that it can affect your reputation. Lastly, you must follow the rules of the website/social network that you are using.
As a Knowledge Constructor, you must know how to research a subject online. You must also know how to see if a source is biased/fake. Lastly, you must know how to use advanced features on a browser, such as checking the history, using hyperlinks, etc. This will help you find websites faster.
As an Innovative Designer, you must complete the tasks that you have started. You must also use the design process to make a plan to complete these tasks. Lastly, you must know how to improve your plan if it fails for the best results.
As a Computational Thinker, you must be able to think/solve problems like a computer. You must also be able to explain your pattern of thinking and how it compares to a computer. Lastly, you must be able to define “automation” in your own words and understand what automation is. As a Creative Communicator, students communicate clearly and use resources that are convenient for their goals. They create original resources or reuse existing resources to make new ones, and visualize complicated ideas to convey them clearly.
As a Creative Communicator, you must know/use the best tool for making an original group project and collaborating with others. You must also know how to properly cite other works when you use them to strengthen your work. Lastly, you must be able to effectively show your ideas using the best tool for the job.
As a Global Collaborator, you must be able to use digital tools to collaborate with others and look at other perspectives on issues. You must also be able to work with a team and do your part. Lastly, you must be able to use digital tools to look into global issues.
