Using a Makey Makey, I created a gamepad. I did this because I wanted a new way to play games. Now, I can play games in an innovative way.

During this process, I learned how the Makey Makey works. It is basically an input device that acts as computer keys when plugged in to a device. It requires a power source, which is the human body's electricity. You use crocodile clips to connect stuff to the Makey Makey, such as your finger, Playdoh, tinfoil, etc. 

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I innovatively designed a game controller. My project also ties to Global Collaborator because my website is public to the world.

A challenge I overcame on this project was the amount of time that I had to work on this project. I was able to do it by working hard. Now, I have 2 projects.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of projects that I did. The reason why I would change it is because these are very quick and easy to make. I could make way more projects.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in designing innovative products.
