Game Piece Holder!!!

This is a game piece holder for the game "Catan."

Nintendo Switch cartridge holder

This is the first draft for my cartridge holder. This is just a side quest, though, so I might not finish it. You can see the file here.

Sadly, I messed up on my first design.

Finished Product

This is a video of the Catan game piece holder.

Using Tinkercad, I created a Catan game piece holder. I created a Catan game piece holder because my dad thought that it would be a cool Christmas gift and I wanted to print something in class. So I decided to make it.
During this process, I learned how to change my snap grid. I also learned how to change the units on the design. I also learned how to import other 3D files to my design.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I took an existing idea and made it my own. My project also ties to Global Collaborator because I published the website for the world to see.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the game piece holder shorter. I was able to do it by ungrouping all of the holes and making the piece shorter, then regrouping them. This allowed me to shorten the length without distorting it.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the design. The reason why I would change it is because lots of designs online are in a hexagonal shape, while mine is in a square shape. I think that it might be more cost-efficient that way, but I didn't want to copy any designs.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in designing 3D objects.
