Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Software for VR design, a computer, VR goggles, and an iPod for viewing.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a VR world about dreams.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will involve interacting with the world and has 3 scenes.
This is the first scene in my VR world.
This is the code for Scene 1. All that it does is take you to the next scene when you step on the button.
This is the second scene in my VR world.
This is the code for Scene 2. I did not take screenshots of the entire code because it is so big, but as you can see, I used the opacity to make the dreams invisible/visible.
This is the third scene in my VR world.
This is the code for Scene 2. All that it does is take you to my website (here) when you click the on screen words.
This is a video about the VR world.
Using CoSpaces, I created a VR world. I did this because I wanted to experience virtual reality. I do not have VR equipment at home, so I thought that it would be cool to try at school.
During this process, I learned how to use CoSpaces for VR world purposes. I made a VR world about dreams. I also used code to make people interact with the dreams before they get to the next dream.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I had to think like a computer to program the world. My project also ties to Global Collaborator because my website can be seen by the entire world.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the boat to move the way I wanted. I was able to do it by programming the boat to move to specific coordinates. Now, the boat moves flawlessly (when the boat is at a complete stop).
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the vehicle the person is traveling in. The reason why I would change it is because when the rowboat is rowing, the oars hit the camera, sometimes knocking it out of the boat.
