What materials will you need for your project?

I will need a computer, an iPad, a Merge Cube, and CoSpace software.

What is your plan to create in this project?

I am going to create a story with 6 different scenes.

What unique qualities will your project have?

My cube is programmed to do different things when you look at certain sides.

Using CoSpaces, I created an augmented reality story. I created this because I wanted to understand augmented reality. This project has given me a better understanding of augmented reality.

During this process, I learned how to use augmented reality software to make an augmented reality world. The software is called CoSpaces. I also used a Merge Cube and each side of the cube is a different part of the story.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I designed code for my augmented reality world, making me think like a computer. My project also ties to Global Collaborator because the internet can see my website and videos of my project.

A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the objects to do exactly what I wanted. I was able to do it by programming the objects to do certain things. For instance, when I look at a certain side of the cube, the crocodile talks, then the person talks, then the crocodile disappears, then the person walks.

Given a chance to do this again, I would improve the programming. The reason why I would change it is because the programming did not always do what I wanted exactly. Also, I could make it more exact/realistic.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in augmented reality game design.
