Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team, but then work by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Cardboard. (and I used yarn)
What is your plan to create in this project?
A lion head from Harry Potter.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be a project that no one else had the idea to have. (And it will have hair)
Using cardboard, paint, and string, I created a lion head. The lion head was a Harry Potter lion head. I made a lion head because lions are my favorite animal, and I love Harry Potter
During this process, I learned that not all projects work out. I had wanted to be able to put the lion on my head. But that didn't work, so now the lion head can sit on my dresser.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I had to come up with an idea on my own.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out how to make a mane. I was able to do it by pulling apart pieces of string to make hair. But I didn't have enough time to pull apart every piece of hair, so I had a friend help me.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I painted the eyes. The reason why I would change it is because the eyes are crooked. And I would make the eyes green.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in selling items on Etsy. On Etsy, I would have to make crafts to sell.
