Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a screwdriver, my Ipad, a Dash Robot, and a new Lithium Ion Battery.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to hopefully make the life of the battery last longer.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My Dash's Battery will have electrical tape covering it.
Day 1:
I set up my digital portfolio, and I removed the top portion of the Dash.
Day 2:
I disconnected the Mother Board from the top part of the Dash.
Day 3:
Absent
Day 4:
Absent
Day 5:
Absent
Day 6:
I breifly misplaced one of my battery connecters, so I spent the hour looking for that.
Day 7:
I retaped the battery and started reassembling.
Day 8:
I continued to reasemmble the Dash.
Using screwdrivers and an old Dash, I created a version of the Dash with a new battery. I created this is because the battery's don't lats very long. My hopes are that it can last a long time with a single charge.
During this process, I learned how to replace and rewrap a Dash battery. I figured this out, by researching the proper way of doing this. I ended up finding a website that showed both taking it apart, and replacing the battery.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to knowledge constructor. My project ties to this because because I had to learn the process of taking apart and reconstructing the robot.
A challenge I overcame on this project was time management. Due to a long period of time that I was absent, I was unable to finish my project. Since I can not literally change the time, I simply started my next project.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my movie. The reason why I would change it is because I think that it felt like it didn't cover the entire length of the project. I would change this by taking more pictures and adding them to the video.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to this CTE connection because I identified a problem, found that solution, and fixing it.
My project connects to jobs such as a Robotics technition. My projects connects to this job, because I repared and installed a battery for a robot. This job has an annual salary of $60,000.
Here I have my final video.
Notes:
