8p5- Laser Cutter

Using a peice of wood, a Glowforge laser cutter, a sharpie, a piece of paper, a saw, and some sandpaper, I created two bookmarks. The bookmarks design consists of a honeycomb and a tree bookmark. I made these bookmarks, because reading is a hobby of mine, and I needed a new bookmark. 

During this process, I learned how to use a laser cutter. I enjoyed learning this, because it has helped me to understand how the process works. If I were to just buy a bookmark, it wouldn't mean that much to me.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowlege Constructor. My project ties to this because I watched many videos explaining the subject to me.

A challenge I overcame on this project was the infill region. When I sent the picture of the print to the laser cutter, it tried to say half of the tree was not there. I was able to fix it by having a printer send the file to the computer.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the thickness of the bookmark. I would make it slightly thinner. The reason why I would change it, is because I dont want it to accedentally fall out of the book..
