Are you working by yourself or in a team?
By myself, but with others if I need them
What materials will you need for your project?
Micro:Bit
What is your plan to create in this project?
Lots of different things
What unique qualities will your project have?
I will make more different things than others.
Today I set up my page and made a working D20 and D100 to get back in the hang of coding.
Today I made radio hot potato and radio red light green light.
Today I made Galaga
Today I made playable snake
Today I worked on my reflection
Using, Micro:Bit, I created many different games because you can make them and I like messing with my Micro:Bit. I also made some dice like a D100 and a D20. I made these to refresh my coding memory.
During this process, I learned how to code using code blocks better. I knew how to use them before and I could do some very complex coding, but now i'm even better. I also learned a little about javascript.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project is tied to Digital Citizen because it is all digital. This also connects to Knowledge Constructor because I used Google to construct my knowledge.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to figure out how to make some of my games. I was able to do it by experimenting and watching YouTube tutorials. Another struggle I experienced was figuring out how to make the radio better. I did this by finding a YouTube tutorial and copying it onto my partner's computer.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how much time I spent on certain projects. The reason why I would change it is because I probably could have made more projects. I could also probably have found more ideas and made batter quality projects.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. That is because we coded the Micro: Bit.
My project connects to careers in computer making because they code. They also use things just like Micro:Bits. Another job is a computer programmer because, as stated before, they code just like I did with my Micro:Bit.
