Are you working by yourself or in a team?
In a team with Jace Keeny
What materials will you need for your project?
An iPad and a robot
What is your plan to create in this project?
Many projects
What unique qualities will your project have?
They will be made by me
Today I figured out how to use the robots.
Today we made it say "Oops sorry" When it hits something
Today we made ours go in a circle
Today we made ours go in a square but we lost the code :(
(Note: We found it then put it here)
Today we found our code then fixed it
Today I helped another group make a trickshot
Today I made something that tells you to shut up if you're too loud.
Using robots, I created many things because it would be challenging. I used 2 types of robots, the Sphero Bolt, and the Wonder Workshop Dash. I made everything except one project with the Bolt and made 1 with the Dash.
During this process, I learned how to code better. I also learned how to make a robot respond to your voice. The third thing I learned was how to make a robot follow tile squares.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator because this is put on a website that can be seen globally. This project also connects to Digital Citizen because I didn't violate Copyright.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting a Dash for my final project. I was able to do it by trading with another group. Another challenge I overcame was lining the Dash up with the ramp.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the first robot I picked. The reason why I would change it is because it took forever to get a dash. Another thing I would change is the sizing of the ramps so it didn't take as long.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. That is because we programmed this robot.
My project connects to careers in Robotics Engineering because they code robots like I did. My project also connects to making computers. That is because they code the computers.
