Students leaving Hastings can apply for an apprenticeship pathway in place of traditional college and 6th Form study.
Apprenticeships provide the opportunity to "earn while you learn". As well as gaining work experience, the apprenticeship will be linked to an accredited training provider leading to a formal qualification. Post 16 apprenticeships can lead to Degree Level apprenticeships as an alternative Higher Education pathway.
Some employers invest a lot into apprentices and will often offer full time employment or on occasion, financial support for Higher level apprenticeships.
We have supported students in finding apprenticeships and Year 11 students are kept updated with local opportunities via their Year 11 Google Classrooms feed, and on the Careers notice board in school.
