In the autumn term we host a careers fair for pupils in Years 10 & 11 with local providers and some employers in attendance.
It is a statutory requirement that all pupils engage in some form of education Post 16 and cannot legally enter full-time employment until the age of 18, unless offered as part of an educational pathway such as an apprenticeship or traineeship programme.
Preparation for the next stages of education and providing pupils with the prerequisite skills to make informed careers related decisions is central to our core ethos and values.
At Hastings we work closely with local Post 16 education providers and ensure that all pupils have an appropriate destination when they leave in Year 11, and that they can make informed and appropriate decisions for their next steps in education.
Throughout KS4 students follow a programme to assist them in choosing the most appropriate pathway for Post 16 education. We provide information on courses offered locally and maintain good working relationships with providers.

Year 11 Post 16 Provider guidance interviews will begin in Autumn Term 2.
Please bear in mind providers have different deadlines for the receipt of applications, and these are shared with students and parents in the autumn term.
