Over the past two weeks we:
finished Wonder! Thank goodness we still have the Jullian Chapter mini book to enjoy!
learned about using the suffix -ly and the prefixes un- and dis- in morphology.Â
continued to work on adding to our Book of Knowledge using Article-A-Days off of ReadWorks. This is helping the students practice gathering the most important pieces of information after reading or listening to a non-fiction passage.
independently completed a personal narrative for our Flashback Friday this past Friday.

Over the past two weeks we:
learned about perimeter and how to use our very first formula!
continued to work towards basic facts mastery using Reflex.
completed the provincial math screener.Â
explored telling time using both digital and analog clocks.Â
learned how clocks work so we could understand the movement of the minute hand compared to the hour hand.
practiced determining the hour of time by focusing on the lower number when the hour hand is between 2 numbers (with the exception of when it is between the 12 and 1).
used skip counting by 5s and/or our x5 multiplication facts to determine the minutes of time that have passed.
explored the various ways to report the time:
half past, quarter past, quarter after, o'clock, __ minutes past __
