finished the Julian Chapter! The students were so invested in this bonus chapter! We had such thoughtful discussions!
applied our new understanding of morphology in so many areas of our learning! Students were recognizing common prefixes, suffixes and base elements in all areas of the curriculum. Studying morphology really unlocked the meaning and building of words for the students. Listen to them over the summer...you may hear them talking about prefixes and suffixes!
enjoyed a few rounds of GREATEST HITS Read Alouds! Students got to choose a favourite read aloud from the year that they wanted to hear again. It's one of my favourite times of year!
NUMERACY
Over the past month we:
finished our telling time unit! When your child asks you what time it is this summer, remind them that they know how to read a clock now too! They can do it!
learned about fractions! This is always a favourite unit in math! The students feel so grown up!Â
gave a final push for our Reflex Green Lights!
SCIENCE
Over the past month we:
learned about changes to the earth's surface have been recorded and shared over time.
investigated how human and animal activities change the earth's surface.

The paintings turned out so well!
The students really enjoyed creating their duckling paintings with Mrs. Sweetnam. Some of you may recognize her from her days at RBES when her name was Miss Coleman. She is a talented artist and overall sweet human!
Big shout out to these two girls! I'm super proud of their dedication to reading!
The students and I brainstormed a bunch of creative book titles to celebrate our amazing librarian, Mrs. Joosse. We made her a book bouquet to celebrate her retirement. We are going to miss her so much!
Sweet treats enjoyed with friends are even sweeter!
