The resource that we get to use for this topic is amazing! It was created by a local Alberta teacher and was brilliantly put together to include topics from our science and social studies curriculum and voices from a diverse group of people.

Poetry Battle
Numeracy
This week we:
focused on the relationship between multiplication and division.
worked on problem solving with multiplication and division.
participated in our small group numeracy centres.
Mr. Coffin bought us this amazing whiteboard table! We are loving it during numeracy groups teacher time!
Social Studies
This week we:
learned about how Metis people lived and what is special about their culture.
examined how French speaking communities started in Alberta and how they changed over time.
researched facts about the Bonhomme de Neige festival.
discussed how settlers came to Alberta and the challenges that they faced.
Art
This week we:
created a collage honouring the Seven Sacred Teachings. The students BLEW ME AWAY with how well they did on this project!
PE
This week we:
experimented with some ringette skills and games.
There are a disproportianate number of photos of the birthday girl in these photos...I just couldn't help it! She was smiling more than she ever has in PE class and proved to be quite the ringette player! ALL of the students really enjoyed our guest coach for this awesome new sport!
