learned about comparing numbers and putting numbers in ascending (least to greatest) or decending (greatest to least) order.
relearned how to use the > and < than sign WITHOUT talking about alligators and crocodiles.
Students need to know that the > and < less have meaning just like the +, - and = signs. They need to be able to see them and know what they say.
We want to avoid using the "the alligator eats the biggest number" trick.
If you see the BIGGEST part first when looking from left to right, it's the GREATER THAN sign.
If you see the SMALLEST part first when looking from left to right, it's the LESS THAN sign.
The students enjoyed working on their math out of their desks.
They still stayed focused and got their work done!

familiarized ourselves with the other provinces and territories in Canada. We filled in a map by outlining the political boundaries of each province and territory.
