Year 1

After exploring Oliver Jeffers' picture book Lost and Found, Year 1 produced their own short stories inspired by the themes of the story.

Manya - Globe

Once there was a boy and one day, the boy found a cat on his door. The boy didn’t know where the cat had come from. It began to follow him everywhere. The boy thought the cat was lost. Then he went to every flat in the local area and he asked every person, is this your cat?

The people who answered the doors, opened the doors and slammed them shut. The boy thought the cat was a wild cat. He went to his garden and let it go.

The cat realised that the boy didn’t want to be his friend. Then the cat saw something ahead of him. It was a dog! The cat did not like dogs. The cat ran away, but the dog kept on chasing the cat. Soon the cat's legs were tired.

The cat realised that the dog was trying to play with her. The dog and the cat played all afternoon happily and become best friends forever.

Eva - Old Vic

Once there was a scorpion. He was so lonely he almost dug himself up, but it was too hot so he stayed in the sand.

One day he came out and he felt perfect. The sun was shining on him. He could build sandcastles.

One dreadful day he saw all the sand was gone. He wondered who had done this dreadful thing?

It was a boy. The scorpion stung him. He did not like him at all!

The scorpion had no home.

The end.

Aayat - Savoy

Once there was a boy. One day, a bear was knocking at the boys door. The boy was confused.

The boy didn’t know where bears came from so the boy went to the lost and found office. He found out that the bear came from another country!

They built a helicopter and flew all the way to the mountains and the boy left the bear alone.

Then the bear was upset and he wanted to stay with the boy. The boy and the bear became friends and travelled together.
