Global Business Experience (GBE)
Questions about GBE? Please reach out to the team at msbgbo@georgetown.edu
As a leader in global business education, Georgetown McDonough seeks to provide all students the opportunity to travel abroad to consult either within an industry or with specific Fortune 500 companies. The GBE program is required of all MBA students. Working in small teams, students partner with executives from multinational organizations to address complex business challenges.
The objectives of the Global Business Experience (GBE) are to:
Increase your understanding of business in a foreign setting;
Increase your ability to conduct international business with comfort and confidence in a foreign culture, thereby improving your managerial mobility – your ability and willingness to do a job wherever it needs to be done;
Improve your problem-solving ability, analytical skills, skills of synthesis, and communication skills;
Deepen your understanding of international business, macroeconomic, and business-government relations issues applied to specific country situations; and
Provide an opportunity for you to integrate knowledge obtained from prior coursework and apply it to the solution of a real-world business problem.

Executive Challenge
The Executive Challenge is a day-long, team role-play “case competition” that serves as the course’s final exam. The challenge simulates a day in the life of a senior leader. It tests students on what they have learned —particularly in the areas of leadership communication, influence, motivation, and relationship-building skills.
