Students should already be able to swim 100 meters nonstop or have completed City of Kamloops Swimmer 5 lessons. If unsure, parents are asked to contact Mr. Brad Dalke at bdalke@sd73.bc.ca to discuss their son/daughter's suitability. Students are responsible for providing their own appropriate swimwear and accessories (goggles, nose plugs if needed). The academy takes place at the Canada Games Pool. There will be bus transportation to and from Brock for each Aquatics class. Please note: This is not a “learn to swim” program. Students are expected to already know how to swim and be comfortable in the water. It is important that students are passionate about swimming and have a desire to improve their swimming.
Cost: $385 – covers the cost of transportation to and from the TTC pool, scuba and NLS Course.
A minimum of $150 is due by April 18th while the remaining is due by the end of September.
Equipment: Students are responsible for bringing their swim gear on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Grade of Students Involved: Grades 8 to 12
Our Aquatics Academy Program is open to students in grades 8-12. Students take 2 blocks (back-to-back) over 1 Semester.
