As a cinematographer, my intentions are to visually enhance the story's themes of horror and mystery, creating a visually impactful cinematic experience for the audience. When the director approached me with the idea of a horror movie, I had a goal to create a visually haunting atmosphere that would fit the theme of horror. Through the use of camera angles, lighting, and shot composition, I wanted to create an unsettling and suspenseful atmosphere that would slowly intensify as the story continued. The director also wanted to touch on the theme of insanity and the complexity of the human mind, so I used different angles and shot types to capture the evolution of emotions of each character. For example, comfortable angles were used to show the casual atmosphere of the setting, shaky and dark lighting was used to indicate the climax of the story. Working closely together with the director was also important, as the cinematographer, I had to ensure that my choices for the shots supported the director’s vision of the film. Overall, I am very happy with the outcome of the film "Missing", the scenes looked promising and I am grateful to have been able to work with this wonderful team.
