A girl is haunted by voices that she believes are in her head - until they’re not…

Waking up from a nightmare on the anniversary of her brother’s death, Lucy starts to hear voices when she sees a strange black figure in her room.  As she goes about her day, the voices, which she believes are just in her head, get louder and louder until she realises that they may not be.  Throughout the film, we also see the reoccuring numbers, 4/12, the date of her brother’s death. Culminating in the voices getting clear enough to be recognizable as her deceased brother’s voice, and finally saying something other than her name: “Ready or not”.

As the cinematographer my goal was to create visually interesting shots that conveyed the unease of the character through to the viewer, through methods such as lighting, spacing and FOV. I wanted to play around with background and foreground to place highlight on certain images as well as leave large empty spaces within the shot to keep the viewer on edge.
