Ahmed goes to his friend Derek's house to prepare for a night out, only to find a morbid surprise
As a co-writer I wanted to try and write a horror film for the first time. I wanted to try and incorporate tension and the build up to it. We tried to build up tension by making the audience aware of the person who killed the friend and not the character so that the audience will feel tense. I looked at horror films such as 28 days later and how they slowly build up tension, I watched an interview with a director where he talked about how a good way to build up tension is to stretch it out like a rubber band and to stretch it out until it snaps. I worked with the director and cinematographer so that we will be able to make the right decisions when it comes to what dialogue to use, what camera angles, the actions that the actor will carry out etc. As sound, I worked with the editor to make sounds that will fit the atmosphere and mood of the movie. I recorded the sounds of the footsteps, door knocking, light switches etc. I got inspiration from behind the scene videos for movies where they were designing the foley, I also learned some techniques on how to balance the sounds and how to make sure that there wouldn't be any background sounds.
