Hello, my ODE family and friends! I would like to take this time to welcome you to the STEM program. My name is Pacynthay Avant and I will be teaching STEM to all PreK thru fifth grade students this school year. This is my thirteenth year teaching, but my second year teaching STEM. Out of all the grade levels that I have taught, I can honestly say that teaching this program is my favorite. I love teaching STEM because it allows our children to think outside of the box and helps them learn how to develop solutions to real world problems.

In 2005, I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I completed my Masters in Instructional Technology from Western Governors’ University in 2013 and also completed the Gifted and Talented certification from USC of Aiken in 2014. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year and I can not wait to get started. I hope to see you all soon!
