Mrs. Abbott

My name is Allison Abbott, and I teach 5th grade English Language Arts at Ocean Drive Elementary. This is my 24th year teaching. I graduated from West Virginia State University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I received my master’s degree in Reading. Over the course of my career, I have taught in West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, and I have taught every grade level except 12th grade and child development.

I am originally from West Virginia, but we moved to Little River three years ago. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Eric and our 3 sons. Kobe is a senior at NMB High School, Kian is a freshman at NMB High, and Kason is in 7th grade at NMB Middle. I love reading, sitting on the beach, listening to country music, and floating on the river at our camp in West Virginia. Some of my favorite things include good movies, shopping at some of my favorite places like Hobby Lobby and TJ Maxx, and hanging out with my friends and their families. I love Dr. Pepper, Mexican food, and Italian Food.

I am so excited for this school year and to meet each of you and your families. Fifth grade is going to be an amazing, fun adventure, and I am thankful I was chosen to be your teacher!
