社会科学高等研究院（EHESS）は、社会をその複雑性のうちに捉えることを目指しています。社会科学のあらゆる学問分野を結びつけることを目的とし、世界中から研究者や学生が集う研究拠点です。
EHESSの特色は研究を通じた教育にあります。本校の修士課程および博士課程の学生は、既成の知識を受け取るための講義に出席するのでなく、現在進行形で進められている研究に触れるゼミナールに参加します。
EHESSはキャンパス・コンドルセ（Campus Condorcet）の設立機関の一つです。このキャンパスは、パリ近郊のオーベルヴィリエに位置する、人文社会科学に特化したユニークなキャンパスであり、国際的なつながりを持つ大都市の中心としての役割を担っています。
The École des hautes études en sciences sociales (i.e. School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences – EHESS) aims to apprehend societies in their complexity. It represents a research hub for researchers and students from all over the world with the purpose of articulating all the disciplines of the social sciences.
EHESS trademark is training through research. Students enrolled in the EHESS’ master's and doctoral studies do not indeed attend lectures aimed at transmitting ready-made knowledge, but they on the contrary participate in seminars in which they are introduced to research in the making.
The EHESS is one of the founding instutions of Campus Condorcet, a unique campus dedicated to humanities and social sciences located at Aubervilliers, near Paris, and thus in the heart of the city, with global connections.

About the City
EHESSは、パリとマルセイユの2都市にキャンパスを構えています。どちらのキャンパスも公共交通機関で容易にアクセスできます。
パリは劇場、映画館、美術館などに代表される豊かな文化で知られています。一方マルセイユは、その多面的な魅力であなたを驚かせるでしょう。海に面した立地、花咲く街並み、そして豊かな自然など、誰もが楽しめる要素にあふれています。
EHESS is located both in Paris and Marseille. Our campuses are easily accessible by public transportation system.
Paris is well known for its cultural life (theaters, cinemas, museums etc) and Marseille will surprise you with its many facets. With its seaside location, flower-filled streets and natural spaces, there is something for everyone.

週末は、地元のイベントをチェックしたり、美術館や文化行事を訪れたり、新しいカフェやレストランを開拓したり、あるいは街の様々な場所で友人と過ごしたりする絶好の機会です。
Our students typically spend their free time exploring the endless opportunities Paris and Marseille have to offer.
Weekends are great for checking out local events, visiting museums and enjoying cultural events, trying new cafes and restaurants, or just hanging out with friends in different parts of the cities.

マルセイユは地中海の名物料理で知られています。学生たちは、代表的な「ブイヤベース」（魚介のスープ）、「タプナード」（オリーブのペースト）、「ナベット」（オレンジの花が香るビスケット）などを味わうことができます。
パリには、6,000軒以上の伝統的なレストランに加え、約3,000軒のブラッスリー、4,000軒のファストフードやテイクアウトの店、そして「外出先で手軽に食事」ができる2,000軒以上のバーやカフェがあります。
Marseille is well known for its mediterranean specialities. Students can taste the typical "Bouillabaisse" (fish soup), "tapenade" (olive paste) or "navettes" (biscuits with orange blossom flavour).
In addition to its more than 6,000 traditional restaurants, Paris has nearly 3,000 brasseries, 4,000 fast food or takeaway establishments and more than 2,000 bars and cafés where you can "eat on the go”.
