New Volume

Create a New Volume

You can create a volume via the New Volume button on the home page. 

New volumes will be saved to the [active directory]. The active directory can be changed in the new volume dialog.

Enter a unique name for the project volume, and select the shape and dimensions for the volume. The Create button will be greyed out until a new name has been entered into the Name field. If the name already exists in the project folder, TVA will not be able to create a new volume and the Create button will be greyed out.   

Currently supported shapes

Rectangular

• • Square

  • Rectangle

  • Arch (a single curve on one side)

L-Shaped

Circular

To create an arch volume, first create a Rectangular volume. Later, truss can be [modified] to add a curve to one side.

Dimensions

You can choose to set the volume dimensions either by the size of the Volume, or the size of the Truss.

• If you set by Volume, the truss will be 1m larger, with a gap of 0.5m.

• If you set by Truss, the volume will be 1m smaller, with a gap of 0.5m.

You can modify these dimensions separately once the volume has been created by selecting Edit Volume. The dimensions will not be dependent on each other there.
