Two types of truss are supported by TVA:
Core truss
Interconnected trusses that are located on the perimeter of a volume.
Used to identify the dimensions of a volume.
Cross truss
Individual truss pieces that spawn off of other truss pieces.
Cross truss are parented to the truss that it spawned from, and will move if the position of the parent truss changes.
Currently, a cross truss piece cannot span past the outer perimeter of the core truss.
There are currently three ways to modify core truss:
Adding and removing uprights
Adding and removing curves
Adjusting dimensions
Select a corner of the truss (if you can't select the corner, move the camera) and select Add/Remove Upright
Currently, only a single side of a Rectangular volume supports having a curve.
Select a piece of horizontal truss and select Add Curve. The length provided in the field is the length of the arc.
If the provided length is less than the length of the straight truss, this will remove the curve.
The length, width, and height of the truss can be adjusted.
To adjust the truss and volume dimensions, select Edit Volume from the main inspector window. From there, you can drag or enter the dimensions for either your truss or volume.
Please note that the truss and volume dimensions are agnostic of each other at this stage. If you adjust either the truss or volume dimensions and want the other reflect the same adjustment, you will need to manually adjust both dimensions.
Additional trusses can be spawned across the volume
To add a cross truss piece select a section of truss to spawn the cross truss from, then select Add Cross Truss
To remove a cross truss piece, select Remove Truss from the inspector or press the [Delete] key.
Cross truss cannot be removed if there are elements constrained to it. This includes elements on other Layouts. Please remove all element constraints across all layouts before attempting to remove the cross truss.
Only cross truss can be adjusted. To adjust the position and length of a cross truss piece, highlight the truss and in the inspector window select Adjust.
To adjust the position, either:
Drag the position gizmo in the scene view to reposition the truss
Enter a value into the position field in the adjustment inspector
Drag the position field value left/right to adjust the position field value
The position of cross truss piece is constrained by the axis of the truss it is spawned from. Only one axis will be available for adjustment in the inspector.
To adjust the length of the cross truss piece, either:
Enter a value into the length field, in the inspector window
Drag the length field value in the inspector window, left/right to adjust the length value down/up
Cameras constrained on a truss can be flipped 180 degs on the verticl axis. This can be used to quickly reverse the direct all of the cameras on a truss are looking.
The flip all cameras on a truss, select the truss and click the Flip All Cameras button found in the truss inspector.
