Loan Policy

E-Library @ Fuhua

1. Students can access the E-Library using the link found on the school webpage and the mobile app on their personal learning devices.

  • Student Login: NRIC Number

  • Default Password: Moe@ddmmyyyy

2. The School eResource Repository (SERR) provides easy access to online resources such as eNewspapers, eBooks, audiobooks, videos and web resources. It can be accessed without a login ID nor password via the QR code on the right or this link.


Borrowing Privileges

1. Students can borrow up to a maximum of 4 library resources for a period of 14 days, using their EZ Link card (see figure 1 below).

2. Students are allowed to reserve the library resources. They should provide the title of the item and the author’s name personally to the Library Assistant at the counter in the library - ILLUMIND. It is subjected to the Library Assistant’s approval.

3. Students can access the non-print materials via the their PLDs.

Renewal of Library Resources

1. Library resources can be renewed for free for an additional loan period of 14 days from the due date, including weekends and public holidays.

2. Students may renew an item if:

a) It has not been reserved by another person.

b) It has not been renewed by the same borrower before.

c) It is not overdue.

3. Each item can only be renewed once.

4, If reservation for an item has already been made by another person, the borrower has to return it and then make another reservation for it.

Rewards and Recognition

1. Students are strongly encouraged to visit ILLUMIND at least once per semester to view the new library resources at the 'Genre Highlights' section.

2. Students will receive a unique school memorabilia every semester once they have borrowed the minimum number of library resources from ILLUMIND (see Figure 2 below).

Fees and charges

Overdue Fines

1. There are no charges for overdue loans. However, students will be subjected to disciplinary actions if they fail to return the library resources within 3 days from the due date.

2. Library resources should be returned before 4:00pm on the due date.

3. Borrowing privileges will be suspended once there are overdue loans. They will be restored once the overdue items are returned to the ILLUMIND.

Lost items

1. For every item that is lost/damaged, the borrower will have to approach the Library Assistant to report the loss.

2. The borrower has to replace the item with one of the same title and author or pay the cost of the item at the General Office. (Price is inclusive of GST.)

3. If the item to be replaced is unavailable for sale, the borrower has to pay the cost of the item in cash or via a cheque at the General Office. (Cost is inclusive of GST.)

4. A receipt will be issued once payment is made.

5. There will be no refund once payment is made even if the lost item is found at a later date.


Collection Development Policy


Contributions from Staff, Students and Others

Donations from staff, students, alumni and the public are only accepted when the materials meet the selection criteria as documented in the collection development policy. They will be evaluated by the MRL Committee. Items which do not meet the selection criteria will be rejected and/or removed according to the guidelines of the weeding policy. Books to be donated can be placed in the box located near the Library Assistant’s counter in the ILLUMIND.

Readers' Recommendations

ILLUMIND welcomes any suggestions of library resources from staff and students through the "Fuhuanites’ Recommendations" online form. This form can be accessed via the QR code on the right or this link.

The suggestions will be evaluated by the MRL Committee based on the selection criteria. Items which do not meet the selection criteria will be rejected. The MRL Committee reserves the right for the final decision.
