Our district is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of all students by providing small group enrichment opportunities for students in grades 2-5. Using a data-driven process, we regularly assess student progress to ensure that our enrichment groups remain fluid and flexible. This allows us to adapt to each student’s evolving needs and provide the right level of challenge and support. The criteria for participation are reviewed multiple times throughout the year, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to engage in meaningful and enriching learning experiences.
Enrichment is a dynamic opportunity designed to support students based on their current learning needs rather than a static, year-to-year course. Because our enrichment groups are determined through a data-driven process, participation may vary each year. In addition to small group enrichment, all students in grades K-8 benefit from enrichment experiences embedded within whole-class instruction to enhance learning.
Enrichment opportunities are determined using a point system based on multiple data points. For students in grades 2-3, criteria include Fountas & Pinnell (F&P) reading levels and performance on LinkIt! ELA and Math assessments. For students in grades 4-5, additional criteria include NJSLA scores for ELA and Math. Students who earn 80% or more based on this system will be included in an enrichment pull out group. This data-driven approach ensures that enrichment is provided to students who demonstrate a need for additional academic challenges. Data is collected on all children in the applicable grade levels. Families are welcome to email Mrs. Lauren Ganley, our GATE teacher, for more specific information about the data points used to determine enrichment group placement.
Enrichment opportunities for all students are available on our GATE website, where families can find a variety of games, activities, and competitions designed to inspire learning and creativity. We encourage families to explore these resources and take advantage of the engaging opportunities provided. If your child participates, we would love to celebrate their involvement! Feel free to share a photo of your child engaging in an activity so we can build a photo gallery and showcase their learning journey. You can email your photos to Mrs. Lauren Ganley.
