Activity 1

Today we are going to use colorful words.  When you write, using exciting, colorful words helps make your writing interesting and fun to read.  If you were going to write a story that takes place in a meadow near a pond your characters could be described as: 

• hoppy toad

• soft-furred opossum

• bright-red ladybug

• chubby, velvety mole

• golden-breasted meadowlark

• graceful butterfly 

To describe how they move we can use words like:

• flutter

• glide

• slithered

• floated

• twitched

You can also use your five senses to describe what the weather is like.
