These activities work on patterns. You are welcome to use pattern blocks, Unifix Cubes, a string of beads, ect.
Let's refresh our memory regarding patterns. There can be AB, ABB, AAB, and AAAABB patterns that look like this:
Activity 1
What is the pattern? For example, the first pattern is AB.
Activity 2
On a piece of paper, continue these patterns by only creating the next 10 shapes only:
How does one know where the pattern begins and ends? The second pattern seems to have some unimportant information at the beginning. There are patterns where the items repeat and those where the items extend. It is important to remember that a pattern is predictable. Look for the beginning of the the part you can predict.

Activity 4 Create a pattern that has 10 colored circles. Find someone to complete the next 10 circles.
