TFI teachers may be eligible for claiming removal expenses where the time or distance to be travelled requires a relocation of residence. Please find here for more detail and for the appropriate application forms.
To assist employees with the removal* process, the Department has engaged the services of third party Move Dynamics. It is recommended that TFI teachers use these services instead of organising their own removalist.
*Only available to TFI teachers relocating from within Australia.
Employee’s are required to complete and submit the “Application for payment of removal expenses on relocation Teaching Service” and email it to the relevant regional Schools People Services email depending on where their new school is located:

Your request will be assessed and you will be advised of the outcome and what the next steps are after that.
TFI teachers who are currently employed as ongoing with DET may also be entitled to additional relocation entitlements here.
The STARRS initiative provides support to help TFI teachers with your search for available housing in your new community.
If you need assistance with finding available housing, please let us know and you will be connected to our housing support service Move Dynamics.
Once connected, you will be allocated a dedicated Relocation Coordinator who will assist you:
To find available housing options (rental or for purchase) that suits your needs,
Set up inspections,
And provide additional assistance to support your settlement in your new community.
