The STARRS Website is now live! We hope that the STARRS website will become a one stop shop for any information you might need about the STARRS Program. We hope that you will regularly check in on the website for updates and other important information. It will also be the place you are able to collaborate and communicate with each other, your Local Coordinator and the STARRS Team.
Funding is available for Networks and teachers involved in the STARRS Program. Reimbursement Guidelines have now been distributed to all Networks and schools. The Schools and Targeted Funding Portal is open and ready for schools to send invoices through to us to seek reimbursement. If you are not sure what you are eligible for, or how to seek reimbursement, please take a look at our 'Funding Available' page for more information.
The STARRS team would love to touch base and give you an opportunity to provide us with your good news story. We would love to post your good news stories on this website to enable you to share your story, in the hope that this might inspire others. Feel free to provide any pictures you have taken of your school (no students of course) and local area. This is totally optional so do not feel any pressure to contribute, we just thought some of you might have a nice story to share with others in the STARRS program.
Feel free to write to us about anything, but here’s some questions to put finger to keyboard and prompt your thoughts:
What attracted you to the program? Or what inspired you to move? (was it a career change or promotion, you want to make a difference to children, or simply a change of lifestyle)
How would you describe your first Term in your new school? You can highlight any challenges you have faced and any successes you have achieved.
What advice would you give a teacher moving into a regional, rural community? Was there anything you did to make your transition easier? (a particular person, a sporting team you joined, a new friend you’ve made etc.)
What supported your transition into your new school community? (Was there something you did to prepare for your transition, did your school mentor support you, your KLA area any other ways you were supported?)
Have you returned to your home town? If so, why
Why did you choose THIS town to move to?
Feel free to highlight anything else.
