Teachers may use their funding in a number of ways to develop their professional practice, the professional practice of colleagues, and share their learnings to ensure that collaborative practice is embedded in the professional learning and is relevant to the school community. Professional learning should:
consider the professional development priorities of the individual teacher, as referenced in Performance Development Plans (PDP)
consider the school communities’ priorities as referenced in the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan
consider Professional Learning Communities' priorities and how the PD will contribute to the development of other teachers
consider the school cluster initiatives/priorities
upskill teachers in specialist areas for example STEM subjects
support teachers to transition to online and remote learning due to COVID-19.

Inclusive education means that all members of every school community are valued and supported to fully participate, learn, develop and succeed within an inclusive school culture. An inclusive school environment is key to the success of students with diverse learning needs. The Inclusive Classrooms professional learning program supports schools to build their capability to implement inclusive practice by providing a suite of high-quality, blended professional learning courses.
A 6 hour online course on student management.

The Graduate Teacher Conferences (GTCs) build the capacity of graduate teachers and foster a network at the area level.
We invite graduate teachers in their first year of teaching to attend the conference. The conference program gives you an opportunity to:
become an active part in your professional community
build your professional practice and resilience as professional educators
form a strong professional identity.
The program is delivered by Deakin University on behalf of the Department.
Bastow is delivering three webinars in the coming weeks to support principals, leadership teams and teachers in the return to school.
This next phase of change will bring with it a host of new challenges and changing priorities. To support school leaders, the webinars will provide participants with practical tools and techniques to navigate this uncertain environment.
Held on 28 May, 11 June and 18 June, the 60-minute webinars will be run twice - one at 10am and one at 4:30pm. The webinars are supported by a suite of resources available to schools. There is no cost.

This series of recordings and webinars explores the strategies and approaches schools have used while transitioning their Foundation – Year 2 classrooms online.
Participants will identify what new skills and approaches they can take back to face-to-face teaching.
Designed and delivered by expert classroom teachers from across Victoria, the series focuses on six key areas of reading instruction.
For each area, participants can access:
a digestible recording that presents ideas for teachers to trial in their classrooms, and additional resources to explore
an optional webinar to further unpack the ideas examined in the recording, as well as the opportunity to collaborate and learn from peers.
Each recording and webinar is standalone – teachers can direct their learning based on their specific needs and experiences.

Designed for secondary school teachers of all disciplines, this course has a strong focus on the use of formative assessment to collect student data and equips participants with the practical skills to analyse and interpret this data to inform instructional decisions.

Learning from Home with Stile is a collection of 30-minute webinars that introduce the key features of the Stile platform.
Stile is an online application where science teachers can integrate interactive and engaging STEM content with their existing lesson plans.
Each webinar will walk participants through specific features of Stile and demonstrate how to get the best out of the platform’s interactive features in the classroom and for remote learning.
You will gain an understanding of how to use Stile effectively to support remote learning and working.
Each webinar will end with a Q&A session. You can attend all webinars or choose those that best suit your needs.

Individual education plans (IEP) : An IEP assist students who require a range of supports with their education. An IEP is a written statement that describes the adjustments, goals and strategies to meet a student’s individual educational needs so they can reach their full potential. An IEP is essential as it helps you plan and monitor a student’s unique learning needs.
Behaviour support plan (BSP) : The BSP is a document that addresses inappropriate behaviour of a student, and outlines strategies to improve their behaviour.
TEAM Around the Learner (TAL) : The TAL provides a framework for an individualised, holistic and team-based approach to support learners at risk of disengaging, or who have disengaged from education and learning.
