The STARRS initiative aims to support regional and rural networks of the teachers receiving a targeted financial incentive.
Funding and support is available to enable networks to design and implement bespoke solutions to boost teacher development and retention in their local area.
The funding and support available to regional and rural networks includes:
$17, 000 Network Funding each financial year
A Local Coordinator who will support schools and networks in developing and retaining high quality teachers
Local Coordinators support Principals and Network Chairs by:
Facilitating school leaders and networks to drive collaboration forward.
Supporting the Network Chair and Network project team to utilise the STARRS Network Funding for the purpose of developing and retaining high quality teachers.
Supporting the Network in the development and submission of a proposal for developing and retaining high quality teachers.
Over time, the Department will be developing and sharing a retention evidence base that will include teacher personas, best practice video case studies, tools and tangible resources for schools and networks to access.
The Department will also facilitate regular information sessions to provide this information to Principals and Network Chairs.
