The STARRS initiative provides funding of $17,000 each financial year to each regional and rural Network of the teachers receiving a TFI payment, to support the design of local solutions to boost the retention and development of high-quality teachers.
Networks are encouraged to work collaboratively across schools with the support of a STARRS Local Coordinator to implement this work. The STARRS Local Coordinator assigned to the Network will be in contact with the Network Chair to provide advice, support, and discuss the expenditure of the Network Funding.
Each Network may use the funding to suit the needs of their schools and workforce. As much as possible, the funded activities should be practice embedded and collaborative, to maximise impact on other teachers and shared professional learning opportunities.
Should Networks require additional funding to support their activities, approval may be provided upon application to the STARRS team using the Network Proposal.
For further information, see: STARRS Network Funding Reimbursement Guidelines.
Networks may also wish to use the Case for Change resources to develop their proposal.
