The CFC is designed to help teams of teachers (e.g. Professional Learning Communities, Communities of Practice, Key Learning Areas) to work collaboratively to design a CFC to suit your school's individual context. Prior to beginning this discussion it would be good to look at data specific to your school context for example: Access your school's Attitude to School Survey (AtoSS) data and Staff Opinion Survey data, NAPLAN and other classroom datasets could also help you identify your CFC.
Which parts of the CFC resonate with you?
What doesn’t land?
What’s missing for you?
What is our data telling us about students? About teachers?
We encourage teachers to use this as a team and build the CFC in a collaborative manner looking at your school data.
A data literate school is guided by a broad range of student and community information. We encourage you to look at the following different types of data to build your CFC including:
Demographic data e.g. date of birth, ethnicity, gender, parental background
Achievement data e.g. Teacher judgement data, NAPLAN data, VCE data, other external and school-based assessments
Well-being data e.g. Individual Learning Plans,
Behaviour data e.g. observations, disciplinary sanctions
Participation data e.g. enrolment in schools and courses, attendance, retention
Effective data e.g. results of student, teacher and parent surveys.
