Unit 1: Numeracy
Students develop numeracy skills to solve problems in personal, community and vocational contexts. They build mathematical knowledge, problem-solving skills and confidence using appropriate technologies for workplace, further learning and everyday situations.
Areas of Study:
● AOS 1: Number
● AOS 2: Shape
● AOS 3: Quantity and measures
● AOS 4: Relationships
Unit 2: Numeracy
Students extend their numeracy skills to solve problems in personal, community and vocational contexts. They apply mathematical knowledge, select appropriate technologies and develop confidence using numeracy in real-world settings.
Areas of Study:
● AOS 1: Dimensions and directions
● AOS 2: Data
● AOS 3: Uncertainty
● AOS 4: Systematics
Unit 3: Numeracy
Students further develop numeracy skills to solve more complex problems in personal, community and vocational contexts. They apply mathematical knowledge and appropriate technologies to real-world situations, building on learning from Units 1 and 2.
Areas of Study for both Unit 3
● AOS 1: Vocational Numeracy
● AOS 2: Recreational & PersonalNumeracy
Unit 4: Numeracy
Students extend their numeracy skills to solve complex problems in personal, community and vocational contexts. They apply mathematical knowledge and appropriate technologies to real-world situations, building on learning from Units 1–3.
Areas of Study for both Unit 4
● AOS 1: Financial Numeracy
● AOS 2: Civic and Health Numeracy
