Unit 1: Modern History
In Unit 1, students investigate the period after World War I, including the causes of World War II, the impact of peace treaties, the League of Nations, and social, political, and cultural changes in the USA and Germany during the 1920s and 1930s.

Unit 2: Modern History
In Unit 2, students explore the nature and impact of the Cold War and challenges and changes to existing political, economic and social arrangements in the second half of the twentieth century. Students consider the reasons for the end of this long-running period of ideological conflict and the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Unit 3 & 4 : Revolutions
In Units 3 and 4 Revolutions students investigate the significant historical causes and consequences of political revolution. Revolutions represent great ruptures in time and are a major turning point in the collapse and destruction of an existing political order which results in extensive change to society. Their consequences have a profound effect on the political and social structures of the post-revolutionary society.
