Unit 1 & 2: Vietnamese
In this unit students develop an understanding of aspects of language and culture through the study of subtopics from the prescribed themes and topics.
Areas of Study for Unit 1 & 2:
● AOS 1: Interpersonal communication
● AOS 2: Interpretive communication
● AOS 3: Presentational communication
Unit 3 & 4: Vietnamese
In this unit students develop an understanding of aspects of language and culture through the study of subtopics from the prescribed themes and topics.
In Unit 4, Areas of Study 2 and 3, students are required to undertake an extended study. Over the course of the unit, approximately 15 hours of scheduled class time should be devoted to the extended study. The extended study is conducted over Areas of Study 2 and 3. It should be based on a subtopic related to language and culture, drawn from one of the prescribed topics of Literature and the Arts, Stories from the past or Youth issues under the theme ‘Tradition and change in Vietnamese-speaking communities’ listed in the table of prescribed themes and topics
