Unit 1: Biology
In Unit 1, students study cells as the basic unit of life, including cell structure, function, growth, and death. They explore stem cells, cell specialisation in plants and animals, and how homeostasis maintains stable internal conditions.

Unit 2: Biology
In Unit 2, students explore reproduction and how genetic information is passed between generations. They study meiosis, inheritance patterns, gene–environment interactions, and use pedigree charts and genetic crosses to predict traits.

Unit 3: Biology
In Unit 3, students investigate cell function at a molecular level, focusing on nucleic acids and proteins. They study gene structure and expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and explore the impact of DNA manipulation and biotechnology.

Unit 4: Biology
In Unit 4, students examine changes and challenges to life on Earth and the human immune system. They explore how immunity works and consider the ethical use of biological knowledge in addressing disease.

● AOS 2: How are species related over time?
● AOS 3: How is scientific inquiry used to investigate cellular processes and/or biological change?
