Unit 1: Literacy
Students explore the structures and features of print, visual and film texts and the reasons readers engage with them. They read a range of texts for personal, workplace and educational purposes, while building and consolidating digital literacy skills. Students learn to critically assess digital texts such as websites, podcasts and social media, and develop safe and respectful practices for engaging in digital and virtual environments.

Unit 2: Literacy
Students explore issues involving different viewpoints, values and beliefs, including those relevant to vocational and workplace settings. They develop note-taking, short-answer, oral and written communication skills, and practise using persuasive language in print, spoken and digital discussions. Students learn to express and justify their opinions respectfully, thoughtfully and logically.

● AOS 2: Responding to opinions
Unit 3: Literacy
Students develop confidence in understanding informational, organisational and procedural texts. They learn to recognise, analyse and evaluate text structures, language, purpose and audience, and engage with technical texts such as safety reports, tax forms, contracts, public health information and workplace documents. Students also explore texts related to individual rights and responsibilities in organisations, workplaces and vocational settings.

● AOS 1: Accessing and understanding informational, organisational and procedural texts
● AOS 2: Creating and responding to organisational, informational or procedural texts
Unit 4: Literacy
Students explore, analyse and create advocacy content for themselves, a product or a community group. They examine traditional and digital forms of promotion and use their understanding of language, context and audience to develop and deliver an oral presentation on a vocational or personal interest.
