Movie NightΒ
Last Friday the P&C held their annual Movie Night showing Despicable Me 4 and it was great to see so many families attend. It was a wonderful celebration of community spirit and collaboration, bringing together families, staff, and local partners for an evening of fun and connection. .
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the P&C for organising this fantastic event, as well as the volunteers whose efforts made it all possible. Special appreciation also goes to our local businesses and sponsors whose support helped bring the evening to life.
Events like this play a crucial role in fostering strong partnerships between the school and families, promoting shared values and a collaborative approach to education. The success of Movie Night underscores the power of community involvement in enriching our school environment.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. We look forward to many more opportunities to come together and celebrate our vibrant school community.
Little Ray Of Giving
A huge thank you to families who have already supported our βLittle Ray of Givingβ initiative, which is an annual Christmas charity drive that collects donations of gifts, toys, and food for local charities in Australia. We have had families donating non-perishables and are very grateful for the support to date.
Donations are being collected until 4pm, 10 December. Hoping that we will have many more donations to support this wonderful cause.
Β
Β Donation Suggestions:

Kinder Orientation
We have now had two of our three Kinder Orientation sessions with our 2026 Kinder students and their parents. Students had a play session to get familiar with each other and the school setting. The second session was a literacy session for both students and parents. Our next Kinder session will be Thursday 27 November and will focus on numeracy. We have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know our new students and their families. If you have not yet enrolled your child for 2026, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible so they can attend our last session.

Come and Try Band Night
Thank you to all the parents and students who joined us last Monday evening for our Band Program Information Night. It was fantastic to see so many students enthusiastically trying out a range of instruments, including flute, saxophone, tuba, trombone and percussion. Their excitement, curiosity and growing commitment to joining our band program were truly inspiring.
Β
Our band program is a wonderful way for students to build skills, make new friends and explore their creative potential. We canβt wait to welcome our new musicians and support them on their musical journey!
Market Day
Our Year 6 Market Day was a huge success! Students enjoyed a fantastic day exploring a range of stalls including temporary tattoos, coloured hairspray, game zone challenges, sport activities and even a spooky haunted house. The event raised funds that will go towards subsidising Year 6 end of year expenses such as the Yearbook, Farewell and our traditional Year 6 gift to the school. It was an extremely fun day and all students had a wonderful time participating. A big thank you to everyone who supported and contributed to this special event!
Swim school
Year 2 students have been enjoying their Swim School sessions, where they are learning important water safety skills, improving their swimming techniques, and having lots of fun in the pool. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as we move into their second week, with students developing lifelong skills to stay safe in and around water!
Β
Groups have been focusing on improving their freestyle and backstroke techniques, while others have been practicing with diving rings and kickboards to build strength and confidence. As the week comes to a close, the students are excited to take part in Safety Week activities, learning essential water safety tips that will help keep them safe whenever they are near water. Itβs great to see their enthusiasm and progress during Swim School!
Making Waves
Support Unit students have participated in a sailing excursion with the Making Waves Foundation. Making Waves is a charitable organisation that provides unique on-water experiences for young people with disabilities.
Β
Students arrived in Rushcutters Bay and remembered our sun safety rules. They were a bit nervous about getting on the boat but were welcomed by experienced volunteers, who made them feel relaxed and comfortable. Students put on life jackets and then sailed the harbour, steered the yacht and enjoyed the views! Students learned about important life skills like water safety, communication and ways to stay safe and confident in the community. This wonderful program supports both independence and inclusion in a fun and empowering way.
Attendance
As we approach the final weeks of the school year, maintaining full attendance is more important than ever. Every day of learning counts in helping students achieve their best and finish the year successfully.
We understand that family holidays are important, but we encourage all families to plan vacations during school holiday periods rather than during term time. Taking holidays during scheduled breaks helps ensure students do not miss valuable classroom learning and supports their ongoing progress.
Regular attendance builds good habits and contributes to a positive learning environment for all students. Letβs work together to keep attendance high through to the end of the year and support our students in finishing strong!
Thank you for your continued support.
Booking Meetings with Teachers
At Jasper Road, we deeply value the relationships between teachers, students, and families. To maintain a supportive and focused learning environment, itβs important to remember the best way to connect with teachers is by booking a meeting in advance.
Please refrain from trying to grab teachers for quick chats during student line-ups or as teachers are dismissing students in the afternoons. During these times, teachers are supervising all students, ensuring their safety and well-beingβa responsibility that must not be interrupted.
By scheduling a meeting, you allow teachers to dedicate their full attention to your concerns or questions in a calm, private setting. This helps foster clearer communication and stronger partnerships in supporting your childβs learning journey.
To book a meeting, simply contact the school office or email the school. Together, we can create a positive and focused school environment where every student thrives.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Each fortnight we will send you instructions or a link to a "How to" guide from School Bytes. This fortnight is all about how to manage student absences.
Lost Property
There is an overwhelming amount of lost property in the school. While Mr. Warner previously spoke to children during assemblies, please ensure all items include jumpers, hats, lunch boxes, plastic containers and water bottles are clearly labelled with your childβs name. Please feel free to have a look at our trolley located near office building opposite the library.
At the end of Term 4, any lost property items without names will be thrown away.Β
Parent Emails & End of Year Reports
With the end of the school year around the corner, school reports and important School Bytes notifications are sent out via email. In preparation for this busy time, it is imperative that parent email addresses are correct in our system. If you have recently changed your email address, you are asked to update your contact details via the School Bytes Parent Portal. We also ask for parents to ensure your email inbox has space so you do not miss out on any important information.
Reports will be sent to the first email in our system. This is the same email listed to receive absence notifications. If parents would still like a printed copy of the report, they will be able to request it through the front office.Β
Thank you in advance for your preparation as we take the step in providing our families immediate access to digital reports and information.
On Wednesday 26 November, the SRC are running a Mufti Day and Bake Sale to raise money for Jasper Road Public School.
The SRC asks for students who wear mufti to bring in a gold coin donation. Please make sure mufti clothes are school appropriate, for example, enclosed shoes and covered shoulders.
At recess only, the SRC will be running a bake sale. Treats will be between $1-$2. Treats include lolly bags, cupcakes, brownies, and more! If your child would like to purchase something, please have them bring some extra money to purchase a treat from the bake sale.

Canteen Payments
May we ask if you are paying cash for your child's order or sending spending money, where possible please send coins or smaller value notes. We have limited change available and struggle to change large notes of a morning.
Flexi Schools is a cashless option where canteen orders can be placed each day or even days/weeks in advance. This removes the worry of lost change or forgetting to hand in the order. Ordering can be done for any item on our menu including ice blocks.
If you have placed a recess order, please let your child/ren know to join the "Express Line" at the canteen to collect the order.
Lunch orders are delivered to the classroom, however, if you have ordered any of the following items, please ask your child/ren to collect them from the "Express Line" at the canteen:
Noodles
Ice Blocks
Jelly
Changes or Enquiries for Canteen Orders
Should you need to change or cancel your child's canteen order, we kindly request that instead of contacting the canteen or school directly, please reach out to our Healthy Canteens Office, where multiple staff members are available to assist you promptly. Contacting the school or canteen can disrupt lunch preparation and experience delays in communication.
Contact Details:
Office Phone: 02 9836 2270 or 0405 219 242
Timing: Please make any changes before 10:30 am.
SMS Service: You may also use our SMS service to cancel an order. Simply text us with the following details:
School Name
Child's Name & Class
We will process the cancellation and send you a confirmation SMS.
Important Note: We regret we are unable to hold orders. Instead, cancelled orders will result in funds returning to your FlexiSchools account. This policy ensures clarity, especially in cases of delayed student returns or changes in onsite staff.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. By following these guidelines, we aim to enhance efficiency and minimise disruptions for all involved parties. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
