Yesterday Year 6 held their annual Market Day which was filled with fun, laughter, prizes and competition. Thank you to the community for supporting this event as our students not only have fun, but all funds raised go towards the Year 6 Farewell, Yearbook and gift to the school.
A gallery of photos will be added to the school website in the coming days.
2026 PLANNING
The school executive have commenced planning for 2026. To assist with planning, if you are leaving our school at the end of the year, could you please contact the office. As sad as we will be to see you leave our school, knowing this information will assist with class formation.
LITTLE RAY OF GIVING
This year we are honoured to partner with Ray White Baulkham Hills to support families.
"A Little Ray of Giving" is an annual Christmas charity drive that collects donations of gifts, toys, and food for local charities in Australia. Each year Ray White offices partner with a chosen organisation with community members encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped gifts or non-perishable food items.
For the past decade, this initiative has provided much-needed support and care to families that struggle over the demanding holiday period.
This year we have joined the drive and are accepting donations. From today we will be collecting non-perishable food donations. These gifts will then be delivered to The Salvation Army to distribute to those in need in our community. Donations are due by 4pm on 10 December.
Donation Suggestions:
Snacks (biscuits, chips, chocolates, lollies)
Tinned foods (ring-pull only): fruits, vegetables, meat/fish
Meal bases: pasta sauces, meal kits, pre-prepared rice meals
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate
Personal toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc
Baby care items: nappies, baby wipes, etc
Cleaning products: dish detergent, washing powder, etc
If each family was to donate only two items, we would have over 1600 items providing much needed support.
The SRC thanks you in advance for your support.
SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL & OPPORTUNITY CLASSES
Applications for selective high school and opportunity class entry in 2027 will be open from 6 November 2025 to 20 February 2025. There will be no late applications due to the longer application period, and the application closing date being closer to the test dates and logistical constraints around organising test centres and devices.
Parents and carers must apply online using the Selective high school and opportunity class placement application website.
This change to the application period means that parents and carers will now need to apply for opportunity class placement when their child is in Year 3 (or by the end of Week 4, Term 1 when their child is in Year 4). This change applies to students currently in Year 3.
For selective high school placement, parents and carers will continue to apply when their child is in Year 5 and can now apply when their child is in year 6 until the end of Week 4, Term 1.
In 2026, placement tests for selective high schools and opportunity classes will be computer-based tests.
Detailed instructions on how to apply are available at:
BAND COME AND TRY
The Jasper Road Band is a highly valued program with over 150 students involved yearly. During Term 4 each year, students currently in Years 2-5 are afforded the opportunity to enrol for the following year.
Every year the school holds a ‘Come and Try’ Band Night for interested students and families. On this night, we aim to provide as much information to parents as possible, whilst including an introduction to each instrument and a chance for students to try them out. All students wishing you join for 2026 are encouraged to attend.
AGM’s
We would like to inform the community of two upcoming Annual General Meetings.
The Parents and Citizens AGM will be held on Monday 10 November from 7pm in the staffroom. All parents and community members are invited to attend to discuss 2026 planning and activities.
The School Band Committee AGM will be held on Monday 24 November from 7:15pm. All parents of band students including incoming students are invited to attend.
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
Our 2026 Kindergarten Orientation program commenced this week with a parent information session. The purpose of the orientation program is to welcome new and existing families while transitioning our new students to ‘big school’. The program will continue over the next three weeks with on-site visits for students and further parent sessions. All correspondence has been sent out to families who have enrolled a child for Kindergarten next year. If you have a child commencing Kindergarten at our school next year, I encourage you to complete the enrolment process as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out.
NETBALL NSW
We are excited to announce the very popular After School Netball NSW program will continue this term. Sessions commence on Monday 7 November and run weekly for 5 weeks. This program is available for all ages with participants receiving a special merchandise pack. Parents are strongly encouraged to book in quickly at:
CRICKET BLAST
Does your child play cricket?
Would you like them to learn?
How about some extra batting or bowling practice?
Cricket season is upon us and we have partnered with Cricket Australia to offer a special 4 week after school program. Starting Week 5 next term, students will have the chance to learn from expert coaches. This program is available to all students K-6 with activities organised for varying abilities. Last year positions filled extremely quickly for this program so register now!

Attendance
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for student success. Each day at school is filled with valuable learning opportunities, and missing even a small amount of time can add up quickly. Accumulated lateness means lost lessons, disruption to the learning and can impact a student’s progress and confidence. Arriving on time allows students to fully participate from the very start of the day, build good habits and make the most of their education.
Let's continue working together to ensure every student is present and ready to learn each day, setting them up for a successful future.
Cricket
This term, Stage 1 students have been strengthening their fundamental movement skills through exciting trial sessions with Cricket NSW. These sessions have focused on enhancing batting techniques and bowling accuracy to hit the wicket. Our students have enjoyed working closely with their coaches, building teamwork and communication skills, while gaining confidence in a new and fun sport!
Thrive
In Term 3, fourteen students from stage 3 were selected for the Thrive program. This program is available to all stage 3 students. To be included, the students were required to come up with a project of their own choice and submit an application. Selected students were given some time to work at school with Ms O’Donoghue once a week, as well as dedicating extra time at home to their project. The students in the program demonstrated creativity, perseverance and determination, completing a wide range of projects. Last Wednesday, at the 3-6 assembly, seven stage 3 students presented their Thrive Projects. Yash presented his published book, “The Silver Boots”, Eva produced a movie called “Protein Granny”, Adam compiled a documentary about Jasper Road PS, “A legacy in the making”, Saish designed and made a board game called “Race to Victory”, Ishani produced various artworks featuring landscapes and patterns using a variety mediums, Vivan made a documentary: "Humanity- Present and Future”, incorporating his technological skills with AI, and Amyra choreographed and recorded a variety of original dances. All presentations were of an extremely high standard and the students should be proud of their efforts and final products.
Halloween Disco
Thursday 30 November, students had a spook-tacular time at the Halloween Disco! The hall was filled with creative costumes, great music, and plenty of smiles as students danced the night away with their friends. A huge thank you to our amazing Parent Committee for organising such a fantastic event. Your effort and enthusiasm helped make the evening a memorable one for everyone!
New Mini Soccer Field & Grass Spaces
We are excited to share that sections of school grounds have been refreshed with beautiful new grass and new play equipment!
These improved outdoor spaces provide students with more opportunities to explore, exercise and enjoy time with friends during playtimes - enhancing our welcoming environment that encourages active play and creativity. Students are making the most of these wonderful new spaces!
Celebrating World Teachers’ Day
On Friday, 31 October, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day. A special opportunity to recognise and thank our incredible teachers for the passion, care and dedication they bring to our classrooms every day. Our heartfelt thanks go to our wonderful Parent Committee for acknowledging and celebrating our teachers in such a thoughtful way.
Kinder Orientation
It was wonderful to meet so many of our parents on Wednesday night at our Kinder Orientation Parent session. Looking forward to meeting our 2026 students next week at our first session.

Deputy Principals
Early Stage 1 - Kindergarten
Stage 1 - Years 1 & 2
Stage 2 - Year 3 & 4
Stage 3 - Years 5 & 6
Each fortnight we will send you instructions or a link to a "How to" guide from School Bytes. This fortnight is all about how to manage student absences.
Lost Property
There is an overwhelming amount of lost property in the school. While Mr. Warner previously spoke to children during assemblies, please ensure all items include jumpers, hats, lunch boxes, plastic containers and water bottles are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Please feel free to have a look at our trolley located near office building opposite the library.
At the end of Term 4, any lost property items without names will be thrown away.
In Week 5, Arbors will be hosting a Jasper Road Toy Swap event to celebrate National Recycling Week. This day will give students a chance to bring in an old toy that they have finished playing with and swap it with another participating student. Students are encouraged to bring a toy that is still in reasonable condition but that is not extremely valuable. Students must make sure they have checked with their parents to ensure that they have permission to swap the toy, as exchanges made on the day will be final.
When?
Yrs 3-6 - Tuesday 11 Nov (Week 5), first half of lunch
K - Yr 2 – Wednesday 12 Nov (Week 5), first half of lunch
How will it work?
Students who wish to participate need to bring an old toy on their allocated day. Once everyone is present, students will be encouraged to walk around the top quad to show their toy to other students and arrange a mutually agreeable swap.
Why are we doing this?
So often in Australia we throw things away that are still good enough to be used in other ways! By swapping a toy and getting one that is "new-to-you" you might be saving a toy from landfill, reducing waste and having fun at the same time.

Canteen Payments
May we ask if you are paying cash for your child's order or sending spending money, where possible please send coins or smaller value notes. We have limited change available and struggle to change large notes of a morning.
Flexi Schools is a cashless option where canteen orders can be placed each day or even days/weeks in advance. This removes the worry of lost change or forgetting to hand in the order. Ordering can be done for any item on our menu including ice blocks.
If you have placed a recess order, please let your child/ren know to join the "Express Line" at the canteen to collect the order.
Lunch orders are delivered to the classroom, however, if you have ordered any of the following items, please ask your child/ren to collect them from the "Express Line" at the canteen:
Noodles
Ice Blocks
Jelly
Changes or Enquiries for Canteen Orders
Should you need to change or cancel your child's canteen order, we kindly request that instead of contacting the canteen or school directly, please reach out to our Healthy Canteens Office, where multiple staff members are available to assist you promptly. Contacting the school or canteen can disrupt lunch preparation and experience delays in communication.
Contact Details:
Office Phone: 02 9836 2270 or 0405 219 242
Timing: Please make any changes before 10:30 am.
SMS Service: You may also use our SMS service to cancel an order. Simply text us with the following details:
School Name
Child's Name & Class
We will process the cancellation and send you a confirmation SMS.
Important Note: We regret we are unable to hold orders. Instead, cancelled orders will result in funds returning to your FlexiSchools account. This policy ensures clarity, especially in cases of delayed student returns or changes in onsite staff.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. By following these guidelines, we aim to enhance efficiency and minimise disruptions for all involved parties. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
