Justin Field - Dural PS
This is happening in 2025 because the 2026 NSWPSSA Girls Cricket Championship will be held in the early weeks of 2026. Therefore, the Sydney North Primary Girls Cricket trials will be held Term 1 Week 1 of 2026. As a result of this our Beecroft Zone Representatives need to be selected and submitted to Sydney North this term.
Trial is open to students in Year 4 and 5 in 2025 for 2026 when they are in Years 5 and 6.
The current Year 6 boys and girls will be in Year 7 next year when they will fall under the NSWCHSSA pathway, not our NSWPSSA pathway. Making them ineligible for this trial.
This Beecroft Zone Trial is an excellent opportunity for high potential and gifted students to showcase their skills as part of the High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) framework.
This trial supports students who excel in cricket. Allowing them to develop their talents further by competing with and against the best students to hopefully represent NSW at Nationals.
Please note, this trial is not open to the current Year 6 students as they will be in Year 7 when the Sydney North Trial happens in 2026.
Criteria for Nomination to the Beecroft Zone Cricket Trial:
The student currently plays for a representative cricket team.
The student has shown the potential of a representative-level player but is not currently participating at a representative level due to cost or other circumstances.
Please note:
NSWPSSA Pathway Representative Trials are open to students who currently demonstrate exceptionally high levels of skill and performance in this sport. Students who are actively playing in representative teams (e.g. district or higher) are strongly encouraged to nominate.
While we value and acknowledge all students’ efforts, private coaching, participation in private lessons and/or perceived potential does not meet the eligibility criteria for these trials.
If your child/ward is not among the best players, they will struggle at the trials against those who are.
Average or above-average players are not being sought for nomination.
Due to the size of Beecroft Zone, Schools can nominate a maximum of 2-3 students who meet the above criteria. Sometimes in our 21 member schools, the demand to trial exceeds the available spots. In these situations schools conduct trials (where possible) to ensure they nominate the best 2-3 students.
It is ok for schools who do not have students that meet the criteria to not nominate any students.
Final nomination decisions will be made by your school sports coordinator and principal, based on the information and criteria outlined above.
The Girls Pathway:
Zone Trial - 23rd October 2025
Sydney North Trial - Early Term 1 2026
This is real cricket with a hard ball that is being bowled very fast and accurately by students who may be selected to progress to nationals.
Nominated students must be able to defend themselves against fast bowling.
Traditionally we do not get enough nominations for Girls Cricket to hold a trial
Once the nomination process closes, name will either be sent to Sydney North or a Zone Trial will be called.
